NCAA – Division I FBS

Up to 85 full scholarships per team. A program may not fully fund all 85 scholarships (i.e., leave some scholarships unused due to lack of funding).

Average team size: 118 players.

NCAA – Division I FCS

Up to 63 full scholarships per team; partial scholarships may be awarded (i.e., full rides are rare). A program may not fully fund all 63 scholarships (i.e., leave some scholarships unused due to lack of funding).

Average team size: 101 players.

NCAA-Division II

Up to 36 full scholarships per team; partial scholarships may be awarded (i.e., full rides are rare). A program may not fully fund all 36 scholarships (i.e., leave some scholarships unused due to lack of funding).

Average team size: 109 players.

NCAA – Division III

 Division III programs cannot award athletic-based aid.

Must rely on academic scholarships or other non-athletic based sources of funding.

Average team size: 101 players.

NAIA

Up to 12 full scholarships per team; partial scholarships may be awarded (i.e., full rides are rare). A program may not fully fund all 12 scholarships (i.e., leave some scholarships unused due to lack of funding).

Average team size: 101 players.

NJCAA – Junior College (JUCO)

Up to 24 full scholarships per team. A program may not fully fund all 24 scholarships (i.e., leave some scholarships unused due to lack of funding).

Average team size: 75 players.
